USA PRO vehicle
gas detection systems for industrial applications: buses,
trucks, off road, and bus jitneys, etc are a few of the
vehicle applications. We provide only systems and components
that meet all codes and standards such as: NFPA 52-2010,
SAE J2343-2009, and California Highway Patrol CAL Title
13-2008.
Vehicle gas detection should be used for
the following automotive vehicle fuel applications: LNG,
CNG, Propane, Hythane, and Hydrogen. Some gases are odorized,
but we believe that this practice does not represent adequate
safety when considering the risk and potential results of
a potential fire or explosion. Odorized fuels are utilized
in pipelines; using odorized gases in automotive applications
as primary safety offers far more safety challenges. Too
much dependence must be placed on the driver, the passengers
and, in some cases, school children to provide emergency
measures. Gas leaks are migratory and cannot be controlled.
The engine compartment is filled with multiple sources of
ignition; drivers need to be health tested daily for the
presence of cold, hay fever, or if taking any type of medication.
The medical issues and if the driver is a smoker, they are
less likely to be able to smell leaking gas at explosive
or fire levels of 5-15% LEL.
Regulations are seldom are up to date due
to the process. If you are following local regulations only,
your information may be years behind the true safety curve.
Alternate fuels for automotive applications are infamous
for being behind the times for safety in industrial automotive
applications. Odorized fuel for industrial applications,
buses, trucks, etc. do not represent the necessary level
of safety for this application.
Vehicle early warning panels are
a must for safety. Every gaseous powered vehicle should
have the panel with the red, green, and loud audible so
that the driver is made aware of the problem prior to entering
the vehicle, as well as when driving the vehicle. Please
refer to our gas panel or fire panel sections.
